Below is the list of Teacher's Salary in South East Asia. This comparison is made to give our fellow Filipino teachers a glimpse of their current salary compared to our neighboring countries.


The entry level of the teachers in the Philippines (Teacher 1) currently receives P20,724.00 and according to the government the proposed increase is under study and will be realized the soonest time possible. However, for the purpose of awareness, we have listed below the salary of a teacher from different ASEAN countries from which we are nearby.

Indonesia         = Around P50,000 and up
Vietnam         = Around P40,000 and up
Thailand         = Around P50,000 and up
Philippines = Around P20,000 and up
Singapore = Around P150,00 and up
Cambodia = Around P50,000 and up
Myanmar = Around P75,000 and up
Brunei = Around P60,000 and up

These salaries are only within South East Asia. What more if we bring in the salaries of the 1st world countries? Now it is crystal clear why many of our fellow Filipino teachers are taking their quality services off to other countries. Let's just hope that our government consider us a valuable part of the country's workforce and deliver the salaries we truly deserve.
