Senate compliments Filipino Teachers

Senate Resolution No. 142 was approved last Tuesday to honor and commend the dedication and hard work of our teachers in teaching our youth to become responsible citizens of this nation.

The approval is in line with the celebration of National Teachers' Month from September 5 to October 5.

Sen. Bong Revilla being the author of the said resolution suggests to pay tribute and appreciate the sacrifices and unstinted effort of our teachers in shaping our young generation. After all, our teachers are giving major contributions in molding all other professions in our country.

In addition to this, Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri who co-sponsored the resolution vowed to find means in realizing the salary increase for teachers in the 18th congress.

"This National Teachers’ Month is a recognition of all that work, inside and outside the classroom. But a month is hardly enough recognition, given how the teaching profession demands full devotion. One does not just work as a teacher—one is a teacher, day in and day out," - Sen. Zubiri.
